Louis and Joey Campanaro opened Village Belle, their Mediterranean-inspired restaurant and bar located at 757 South Front Street in Philadelphia’s historic Queen Village, America’s first neighborhood. The 90-seat restaurant will offer a bold, seasonal menu full of northern Mediterranean flavors, with a focus on Italian and Spanish culinary traditions. Village Belle also marks the first time the two brothers have cooked together since becoming professional chefs.
The Campanaro brothers were raised around the corner from the restaurant, and bring over 40 years of restaurant experience to the table at Village Belle. Executive chef and co-owner Louis Campanaro is a veteran of the Philadelphia and New York culinary worlds, earning two stars from, Brian Miller in The New York Times when he was just 26 years old while cooking at the celebrated Andiamo in midtown Manhattan. Louis’ brother, Joey Campanaro, is the chef and owner of the 32-seat jewel box Little Owl in New York City, where his seasonal Mediterranean-American dishes (and Gravy Meatball Sliders) have received acclaim in outlets around the world. |
